WorkMate! is a Mobile Application that is targeted for the students of Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri. This is an app that help students ease their stressful lives by aiding them in many areas such as tracking college attendance, notifying when a class starts (according to the timetable), view the map/floorplan of the college to know the directions and a Q/A forum of the college to help students clarify any doubts they have.

The first highlight of the project is that it automizes attendance tracking, that is, students need not manually keep updating their attendance for every class they attend. On attending the first class of a subject the student can set the coordinates of their classroom. Thus, for all the classes of that subject to come, the app will compare the current coordinates of the student and if the student's coordinates is in the vicinity of the classroom's coordinates, the app will mark the attendance of the student as "Present". Otherwise it will mark the attendance as "Absent".
All the same, there will also be 3 levels of notifications for the total attendance - Red in case of less than 60%, Orange if less than 75% and Green if 90% or more.

Secondly, an alert is sent to each user approximately 5 min before class starts (Yellow). Incase the student doesn't dismiss the notification, it is assumed that the student hasn't reached the class yet and hence, another alert is sent 5 min after the amendment of the class (Red) - notifying him/her that the class has started.

The third feature of the app is that it provides students with map(optional)/floorplan of the college which helps them to navigate easily within the college premises using just this app.

Finally, the app also provides the service of having a college discussion forum for students so that they can easily clear any doubts they have in mind. The forum moderators can be the admins of the app. The forum will enable easy access of any knowledge and procedures related to the functioning and events of the college. This feature can be especially useful for the first years.
All the current attendance tracking apps require students to manually update their attendance for every class they attend each day. This can be a tedious process. In the same manner, for students who are new to the college and even for the senior students, locating places within the college premises where the campus is huge can be a difficult task. Students also come across several queries that can easily be cleared among the students itself using the forum exclusive to the college students. With the introduction of our app, all these issues can be solved, thereby helping students in many areas to a great extend.
