Why is AsyncValue not triggering when when provider gets invalidated

Hi, I have a consumer widget that uses FutureProvider. When the AsyncValue has an error, I have a button that invalidate the provider. But when I invalidate the provider, the AsyncValue is not triggering the when method, thus the loading widget is not showing. Is this expected?

It is an intended behavior. You can change a parameter of when skipLoadingOnReload to true to fire loading callback.
