Before going from dev to production, following needs to be done:

check if any 3rd party service api keys need to be regenerated for the production URL
disable devel
remove test accounts and content
enable theme caching [!]
drupal permissions, permissions, permissions
linux permissions for user directories
enable GA tracking
cron jobs
