Internal Rebranding Discussion

It was raised by @SevenCatsHere that the organization that the name re:dose leaves a bad 0th impression (that is, what people will think before encountering so much as a logo). If you think we should change the name from re:dose, there will be a follow-up poll to determine the new name. — @ajar

• I like the name re:dose, but guess I'm not married to it if it sucks.
• re:dose, for better or worse, is more of a known name every day.
• re:dose has kept the same name since 2015, so for eight years.
• We don't have to use re:dose as the entity name, of course.
• The name isn't as important as the substance of the project.
• The name fits the project, as it's a dose log project first.
• We have several "partnerships" under this name already.
• We have a lot of (crappy) brand assets already. It's history.
• We already have the following presence (or registration):

I think leaving it like this is fine. the concern about HR and re:dose. people without experience with addiction can be very biased sometimes tho because they think its about a servers where people just redose drugs all the time. does that make sense?

Yeah I hear what you're saying, but I can't think of any real-world context in which this is going to come up. If the name is being dropped in any context, it probably is being mentioned in a context where harm reduction is an understood concept. I don't think TripSit is a less sketchy sounding name. It's literally a project intended to help people rethink their dosage patterns and reduce their use in reaction to personal research made possible by the resources at re:dose. What professional goals would be stifled even if the project were called Boof Nozzle?
