This repository contains code and data results for the article "Ranked Choice Voting and the Spoiler Effect" which appears in Public Choice.
The Jupyter Notebook "RCV simulations Public Choice.ipynb" contains the code that ran simulations based on theoretical models. The Jupyter Notebook "RCV simulations from real data.ipynb" contains the code that ran simulations based on ballot sampling from actual elections. The spreadsheet "spoiler data.xlsx" contains the empirical results from the 170 actual elections in our database. The spreadsheet "public choice simulation results.xlsx" contains the results obtained from ballot sampling from 91 of the real-world elections.
