I cannot hear anything including ringtones when I start calling on Android.

React-native-callkeep doesn't play ringtones, but it will output the sound from a 183 Session Progress. You can use React-Native-Incall-manager for playing ringtones locally. Also React-Native-Incall-manager help manage the when to start output audio and when to shutdown audio.
