Starting from Fedora 44, and in a few days in EPEL 9 & EPEL 10,
ruby-buildpackage has been split into several subpackages. The idea behind this is to track better dependencies of each ruby type. For more details, see the Change proposal: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/SplitRubyBuild
Installing the base
ruby-buildpackage no longer pulls in every possible dependency. For example,ruby-build-rubynow contains the specific tools needed to build stable MRI/CRuby releases (the versions usually listed by rbenv install -l).List of packages:
ruby-build-coreand recommendsruby-build-ruby.ruby-buildexecutable, man pages, and the base directory structure.ruby-buildas a plugin forrbenv. If you encounter issues on Fedora or EPEL, or want to propose other changes, please open a Bugzilla ticket.
