Q&A around hack2root's contributions
Q: Why didn't I want to refactor my code that has worked from before the concept of lambdas were created? A: Well, it's not because of page clicks as hack2root claims on his repo, since no one gives a crap about those in today's day and age. How about if it's working and has been manageable by so many contributors already, why add the overhead of UWP support? I mean if he's hoping to pad his resume, that's all well in good, but why be so insulting on the OP's site? Shame on him for neglecting the spirit of open source.
Q: Why didn't I ever get around to adding import/export? A: Had nothing to do with code: it had to do with it already being supported in the Registry so why add the bloat?
Q: Why was hack2root's pull request rejected by randyrants? A: Again, because a refactoring on the scale that he's done doesn't make things more readable. In fact, in the effort to add multiple frameworks, he missed code snippets in the re-write that allowed for triple byte keys to be supported and against all logic you switched from explicitly defined variable types like byte and made them var. Why on earth would anyone want to add overhead like that when 8 bits - and the actual variable type - is so much better for an app?
Q: Why do I care about this fork? A: I'm actually curious to see where it lands because maybe it will turn out to be a brand new UX or shiny app that can do more and then I can phase out my own version. I personally would have rather seen hack2root work with the rest of the community and add his ideas to the codebase without falling into the "if I didn't code it, you must suck" mindset but to each their own.
