🙋 I'd also like to tackle this one - and happy to talk to companies as needed. @alicetragedy do we have a list of who's giving in kind-sponsorships and/or how we want to display/acknowledge them? I get the sense there may be some planning involved here - or, if that's already been done, is there somewhere I can look? |
Great that you want to help here! You can find a list of who's giving in-kind sponsorship in the orga wiki (note: Sentry is still missing).
|
Hi @acnagy, are you still interested in doing this? It's not extremely urgent, so if you are but don't think you can tackle it in the near future, I'd move it to the backlog. Let me know! |
Ahh... this got away from me! I am interested, but, uh... yeah, backlog
seems fair to me as well 😅

@acnagy just an update, I've moved this to the backlog and added it to the milestone “kick-off 2018”, with the idea that it would be cool to have this up by the time Summer of Code kicks off this year! |
@acnagy would you still be up for working on this sometime in January or February? Happy to un-assign you otherwise and have this be an “up-for-grabs” task for contributors :) |
Hi, hi! I’m good either way! I can prob pick this up in February, but I’d love it too if someone new wants to grab it. Seems like a great beginner issue too :D |
Hiya @acnagy, pinging you again — I think if this is something you could work on at some point, it would be great, as I don't think we will be onboarding too many new organisers in the near future. <3 Let me know if this is something you can take on, otherwise I will remove you as an assignee and leave it open for anyone to pick up :) |
Hi @alicetragedy! So sorry for the silence here - I'm afraid to say I won't be able to work on this right now - please go ahead and re-assign to someone else. Thanks so much! |
There are a number of companies that support us with free plans for Open Source projects, non-profits, or just because they're awesome such as Slack, GH, Helpscout, and more recently Sentry.
We don't yet share this info anywhere, but it would be great to manage and have this in there somehow. In-kind sponsorship is not always extremely useful, but I think in those particular cases these products are products we use heavily and really benefit from.
Note: This is something we might want to talk about with the companies beforehand, to make sure it's ok if we make this information public.
