I first thought we should probably add allowSelfIntersection = FALSE here as well, but then changed my mind. We should consider #88 (comment) and choose polygons with correct behavior + linestring with incorrect behavior or polygons with "invalid" + linestring with correct.

We should probably default to TRUE but allow the user to set it.
