The main asks for this issue:

  • Look through pull request(s) coming from the 2022 Datathon
  • Identify the minimal code necessary which takes the default Williamstown dataframe and adds a column "in_white_oaks" whose entries are 1 or 0 (or True or False). Note: this likely needs to include a hard-coded list of street names. (the long-term ask involves working with shapefiles and so on, outside the scope here).
  • Identify the minimal code necessary which takes the default Williamstown dataframe and adds a column "shift_number" whose entries are 1, 2, or 3 based on the formal definitions.
  • Write a script (.py) which achieves these same things, or find an existing file to include them in.

Ariana @mendible probably either knows offhand, or has the pdf which contains, the beginning/ending hours for the Williamstown shift numbers; or can give advice where on the web it can be found again if needed.
