Hi,

I really love cells as high-quality alternative to Nextcloud.

However as a open-source enthusiast and privacy-oriented guy I'd really love to be able to download it outside google play.
(I know I can use APKpure, Aurora etc. to get it without login, that's what I do now).

How about publishing it in official f-droid repository or maintain our own f-droid compatible repo?

Here is example list of additional F-droid repositories
As you can see some notable projects like MicroG, UnifiedPush, KDE and Collabora decided to do so.

If you maintain your own repository it gives opportunities of automated deployment.
Here is example of automation with Github Actions.

Thank you for creating cells!

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback and the interest for the app and the Cells project in general.

Putting the Android App in alternative stores is definitively in the list, but unfortunately not quite next to the top and we don't have much time to invest in this for now. We will try to have a look at the links you kindly provided and go forward.

That said, would you be interested in giving us a hand? If you have some experience with such process and could help with some guidance and tips, that would ease and fasten the process a lot.

Let us know!
