The core of Soundcast is person-level travel behaviors managed by a set of models collectively part of the Daysim program. Daysim is common platform used by other regions throughout the world, though PSRC maintains a set of locally-calibrated coefficients and location-specific models. Daysim is an open source model and runs withing Soundcast as a compiled executable program that accepts inputs and produced a standard set of outputs - primarily a set of daily trips and tours for each (simulated) person in the region.
A more detailed user's guide can be accessed here, which includes general descriptions and various technical and developer guides.
The wiki describes the basic theory and process to use Soundcast for travel modeling applications.
