Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I have (user) Print Profile, (user) Filament Profile, Printer Profile selected. I make a change to Print Profile, and my selection of Filament profile changes to some other filament. If I do not notice its done that, then the resulting print may fail.
I have ""Show incompatible print and filament presets" enabled (checked) but this appears not to work as expected. I say this because some user profiles disappear.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like the entire "Dependencies" filtering of Print and filament profiles lists and related to be completely disabled.
I would like to be able to define my own filters for the lists, that simply serve to help find profiles I need.
Describe how it would work
When "show incompatible print and filament profiles" is checked:
When "Expert Mode" is operational.
(1) The entire unfiltered list of print profiles appears for selection on both Plater screen and print profile screen.
(2) The entire unfiltered list of filament profiles appears for selection on both Plater screen and Filaments screen.
When the user makes a selection of a print profile and a filament profile that are not recorded as being compatible, prusa slicer will prompt the user to mark the selection as indicational of real world compatibility. The compatibility flags would be set in the background. The user is thus recognised as having the necessary expert judgement the make this choice.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I have attempted to use the existing functionality, involving the application of choices on the various dependencies screens, and find that its tedious, time consuming, and subject to error, and when a new profile is added, the dependency list must be maintained, as new items are not automatically marked as compatible.
Additional context
It seems to me that the dependencies functionality in Prusa Slicer was originally intended to aid the user and guard against the inexpert user user making selections of compatibility that might not work. But the lists has grown long, user presets make the lists longer and the whole thing has become unwieldy. It does not "work" to improve operation.
In fact this functionality serves as a productivity impediment. For expert users it extends the time needed to define an overall profile needed to make a print.
Really this whole area needs a second look with a view to a major revision, but what I am asking for here as a "quick" fix is simply to remove the compatibility checking, which should be a relatively simple thing to implement.
The fact that the User preferences item does not work indicates that someone has attempted to fix this before, but it just does nt work., Perhaps its only partly developed.
