small device for testing.

Hey, i have never use a FPGA borad, i will try the prodject on a smalelr device to understund more and mabye in the futurce buy and bigger board.

I looked up Altera MAX II EPM240. and under stund that is an smal one. but is it easy to get this project to work with that device?

I'm far to be an expert, i ve learning fpga devel, but i can say you couldn't use this device, too few logic element, you need at least 5000Lut to fit a rolled core in a device. For example a DE-0 Nano can't even have a unrolled core.

Before buying something i suggest you to learn and try on simulator using Quartus 2. I ll probably bought a DE0-Nano for fun and learn, but from such board i didn't expect really mining on it ... it should be able doing 20Mhash/s from my calculs, even less (it s a simulation)

Thanks for your answare. I got a Spartan 6 XC6SLX25 device. and wanna try to use that one. how much work will it take to port lx 150 program to work with lx 25?
