I've finally finished (or at least, finished enough to have a bit of fun with it now) my Raspberry Pi Pico based TX816 style IO panel for MiniDexed.
Full details can be found in my blog post series linked from the final post here: https://diyelectromusic.wordpress.com/2023/02/24/minidexed-tx816-part-7-in-use/
By way of demonstration, here is an 80s FM Synth style version of Jupiter from Holst's Planets Suite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5cnrfKYE4M
It's still a little stuttery in places, but the latency of the MIDI performance isn't too bad all things considered!
Of course, you don't need any of the TX816 IO stuff to do this - it's all just MiniDexed really, but that wasn't the point - I've wanted a TX816 since the 80s, and this is the closest I'll probably get (or at least could justify) :)
