[BUG] Frequently crashes / stability #231
Comments
Disable OpenXR toolkit, it's known to cause crashes on DX12 Not enough information provided, please re-read the issue template, logs and crash dumps are required. https://github.com/praydog/UEVR/blob/master/.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/bug_report.md Use the nightly build for several fixes that have been added since your January build https://github.com/praydog/UEVR-nightly/releases/latest |
Okay, I will look for that. By the way: the only error message I get when these crashs occur is that universal "Fatal crash !" splash screen from the unreal engine. But I'll try to provide log data as mentioned. Regarding the OpenXR toolkit; outside of UEVR, it (really) never caused crashes for me and does actually a good job as it provides some nice image (post) processing options for openXR (as a WMR user, I rely on oXR wherever I can). I use it e.g. for all kinds of sim racing games, SkyrimVR, many experinences etc.. |
I'm aware of what the OpenXR toolkit crash is, and mbucchia has acknowledged that its DX12 support is unstable. It does not appear to be an issue with UEVR itself from the crash logs that I have seen. |
As a follow up, I created here a dedicated issue for Ride 4. |
I know this is quite general and may not have anything to do directly with the UEVR mod, but still: I experienced many crashes while using the mod. What they all have in common is that the crashes don't occur when I run the applications flat.
Examples:
some info:
UEVR 1.03
Windows 10
RX 6800
Ryzen R5 3600
HP Reverb G2
OpenXR in all cases
OpenXR Toolkit Companion app as OpenXR runtime
