I'm looking into using Plausible for a small personal project of mine. Its main component is a search field with which users search for items in a DB.
I would like to track an event "Search" and attach the user's search query. According to my understanding, this does not fall into the category "personally identifiable information" (correct me if I'm wrong). However, users could be silly and type in their address or full name or similar information (clearly PII).
Do I have to filter this in some kind of way, or is it not a good idea to use user input as custom data?
Any opinions or facts on this are appreciated :)
