i tried it with rector but run into a lot of issues
what would be the best way to contribute where it possible to get help for some issue im not able to solve

@bh-teufels @MattiasNilsson did someone ever start working on a V12 compatible branch?

I have a working-tree where the EXT can be installed in V12 using PHP 8.3 and creation of records is working again. I've gone over the source using rector and some other AI-powered tools.

Now I am facing a big problem regarding the dynamic attributes and maybe someone here can help out:

• as in V12 it is not possible to alter TCA during bootstrapping (calls to the database are not possible, which of course prevents fetching the dynamic attributes)
• I've managed to workaround the problem using TYPO3\CMS\Core\Core\Event\BootCompletedEvent to manipulate the TCA successfully
• editing a product in the backend still fails because of something very silly in the TYPO3-BackendUtility: V12 tries to fetch labels for inline-records/group-items (https://github.com/TYPO3/typo3/blob/12.4/typo3/sysext/backend/Classes/Utility/BackendUtility.php#L1278) and this does end in an error. I think the problem is that there is no "real" TCA available and BackendUtility does $ctrl = $GLOBALS['TCA'][$table]['ctrl'] ?? []; ( see https://github.com/TYPO3/typo3/blob/12.4/typo3/sysext/backend/Classes/Utility/BackendUtility.php#L1286)
• I can temporarily fix the problem by editing the core-BackendUtility like this but of course I would like to have a clean solution without fumbling around in the Core:

I found that this core-bugfix for 12.4.15 (getRecordIconAltText() in BackendUtility) is what breaks displaying a product-record in the backend:
