Difference between branch and leaf branch ?

I would like to know if there is a difference between "branch" and "leaf branch" ? There seems to be a difference between the two terms because "leaf branch" is only used to explain the marker detection with detect_leaf_markers but in the documentation or your article you didn't making it explicit or even distinguishing it from "branch"... Based on the result outputs, there would be no difference between the two because they have the same name. It's quite confusing for me....

Can you help me with that one ?
