I think we should explore other approaches for the backport bot, for example such as using custom labels (e.g., A4-needs-backport-stable2503, A4-needs-backport-stable2412, ...). Currently, when I want to backport to the latest stable2503, the bot automatically creates three unnecessary backport PRs for stable2407, stable2409, and stable2412, which I then have to close manually, resulting in a waste of CI time and resources. |
