Heltec v3 command line installation aborts

I am trying to install 2.6.4 b89355f on a Heltec v3 (v3.1) module with 8MB of flash. This is the command line I use on Fedora 40:

A fatal error occurred: File littlefs-heltec-v3-2.6.4.b89355f.bin (length 1572864) at offset 13172736 will not fit in 8388608 bytes of flash. Change the --flash_size argument, or flashing address.

Where do I use the --flash-size argument as suggested? I thought this would be esptool.py, but my version 4.8.1 of esptool does not have such an option.

Hi @alohr,

I had the same issue, it's due some bugs in the shell script's logic.
There is a fix already, but it was not applied in the release...

I was able to flash my heltec v3 using the fixed version of device-install.sh suggested by OP in the above issue.

FYI I am on Debian 12.
