When backing up files from a smartphone (MTP), the speed can vary wildly depending on the size of the individual files. Many small files slow down the transfer significantly.

When copying large and small files in one go, the MB/s indicator might show a much higher or lower speed than the current speed because it calculates the average since the beginning.

It should calculate the average since something like ten seconds instead.
