This is a duplicate of a previous post but wasn't sure replying to that was "correct" as it was marked solved.

Would it be possible for the GitHub team to update the syntax highlighting to the latest version of the tree-sitter grammar for Gleam? This update would greatly benefit the growing community of Gleam developers and enhance our coding and collaboration experience on the platform.

I'm not sure if GitHub uses the tree-sitter grammar or the TextMate grammar shipped with linguist. If it's the latter, you can actually fix syntax highlighting by contributing to linguist and/or the the grammar repository that linguist provides.

👋 @LiamLombard, I was out of office but returned this week and saw the support request. gleam syntax highlighting now uses the most recent version of the tree-sitter-gleam grammar. Thanks for letting us know, and if the community has future updates, it's probably best to open a support request (so the right team of folks sees it) 🙇
