Discussed a few times already, arena teams either complain about not enough teams they face, or waiting too long to get matched against a team (large difference) or having to play a team that is far outside their range.
Typically, there are 2 approaches, the first should be the one currently active
this results in a lot of dissatisfaction for arena beginners, being matched against very high ranked players.
also, it can cause huge points / mmr drops for high teams if they lose against a team that they shouldnt be queued against yet (if you talk blizzlike).
Some private server implemented a widening/search radius.
A team leader can, before queueing, use an ingame command to set a "search radius". that way, only teams within that MMR will be considered (to avoid sniping, this is usually set to multiples of 100). teams are only matched against each other, if both teams criteria match.

Das Bracketsystem der Arena wurde entfernt. Stattdessen wurde dem Widening System eine Grenze hinzugefügt, die jeweils 700 MMR um der eigenen liegt. Der Gruppenleiter kann mit dem Befehl ".arenawidening" festlegen, ob ein Kampf gegen ein Team stattfinden kann, welches über dieser neuen Schwelle liegt. Der Suchbereich wird erweitert, je länger man sich in der Warteschlange befindet und die Grenze kann aufgehoben werden, auch ohne die Warteschlange neu betreten zu müssen.
