Hi there @JuliaEpi/members,
I just talked with @ClaudMor and @pitmonticone about translating 'nowcaster' R package to Julia, the idea is basically to have a Nowcaster.jl package.
Nowcaster is based on INLA and R-INLA which is an alternative to MCMC algorithm implementations, it implements Laplace Approximation algorithm to produce bayesian inference, the original implementation of INLA is in C and Fortran, but the most popular is the R package, which is basically a wrapper that calls C implementation.
'Nowcaster' is an implementation of statistical models, which solved by R-INLA, to account for delay on individual level data, 'nowcaster' has a web site with tutorials that helps to understand the models the package implements and which kind of data it can deal with. The site is covid19br.github.io/nowcaster
How can we proceed with this project? Maybe creating a working team for it?
It should be nice to hear you about it, and how we can work on it!
Best to all!
