CouchDB v1.0.2 is stable in gentoo by now.
Therefore unmasking of the testing version isn't needed anymore:
Enable the development ebuild of CouchDB by running:
For installation I personally prefer:
It will show all dependencies and ask whether to proceed.
If anything goes wrong during installation emerge will rollback anyway.
