Having said that, the license under which you download Oracle binaries is usually1 determined by the location from which you download those binaries. For example, if you select an option on the Oracle Database 19c page, you are required to agree to the terms of the OTN Developer License which states: Oracle grants You a nonexclusive, nontransferable, limited license to internally use the Programs, subject to the restrictions stated in this Agreement, only for the purpose of developing, testing, prototyping, and demonstrating Your application and only as long as Your application has not been used for any data processing, business, commercial, or production purposes, and not for any other purpose. It's at this point that I'm contractually obliged to recommend that you get legal counsel to review and confirm that your intended use of Oracle Database 19c downloaded from that page is allowed under the stated restrictions. Hopefully this at least provides you with the appropriate information if you chose to do so. :)

The short answer is that the 12.2 client is compatible and at this point in time still fully supported with Oracle Database 19c. |
