Neither Web nor App - Oppia's Annual Report

Describe the request

We would like to audit and update the format of Oppia's annual report for 2024 and beyond. Here is our existing Annual Report: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uRe145ou9Ka5O2duTB-N-i89NVPEtxh1/view.

Here are some resources that might be worth taking a look at when considering how to evolve the report:

UXR success criteria

Viewers of the report are inspired by Oppia's mission and direction, and can easily understand the impact that Oppia is making, how the organization uses funds, and where it's headed next.

DESIGN APPROVAL CHECKLIST -- DO NOT EDIT.

  • UX Design approved (Android mocks should include dark mode)
  • UX Writing approved
  • Product approved

For a design project to be completed, it needs approval from UXD, UXW and PM. Please tag the following reviewers when your project is ready (at least one reviewer for each of the bullet points below):

Hi all! Just some ideas based on my experience creating annual reports:

  • Finances page: Explaining how much money came in and where it was spent
  • Focus on impact: the 2023 report had many pages about Oppia's mission and the challenges we're trying to solve. If the purpose of the report is to celebrate achievements and inspire further progress, I think it'd be better to use this space to highlight stories from people impacted (we only had a few testimonials - imagine how great it'd be to have longer stories with photos!)
  • From the production side, I think it should be decided early on who is owning what part of the process (writing, editing, designing, etc.) The editing process for the 2023 process has been a bit confusing on my end, so I think it'd be helpful to have 1. clear expectations from each team and 2. solid deadlines.
