Hi. Sharing in case it's useful to people trying MicroShift outside RHEL: https://github.com/conn3xorg/circuit-microshift sets up a single-node MicroShift on Rocky Linux 10 with one
conn3x apply. Conn3x is a fork of OpenTofu that configures hosts over SSH, so the VM and the cluster can live in one configuration. To be clear about what it is: it installs the microshift-io community build (4.20.0, on OKD), not Red Hat's product, and it says so in the README. It pins every unsigned package by SHA-256 rather than turning off GPG checks, and it's only been tested by hand on Rocky Linux 10, x86_64, with SELinux enforcing.
The part that took longest: on a cloud image with only
kernel-modules-core, the pod network never came up, because kube-proxy needsxt_conntrackandxt_commentfromkernel-modules-extra. Mentioning it in case someone else hits the same wall.Feedback welcome, especially from anyone who knows where this differs from how MicroShift expects to be installed.
