Updates to the server tend to be ad-hoc and not always communicated to all parties.
We need a clear method of communication from server devs to users/package devs, this should include:

  • some form of a deprecation cycle
  • a way to communicate server updates (release notes), for example Github releases, or posts to a dedicated Slack channel
