We should add Google analytics to the config.toml file.

I was considering using https://matomo.org/ instead, but haven't made a final decision.

Analytics should keep in mind GDPR and have a privacy policy, maybe a cookie consent banner if you go with GA. Matomo's site has a nice guide. MDAnalysis went with the much lighter, aggregated GoatCounter after our own discussion earlier last year.
