Use the users home location for the calculations. Not sure how you get that. I'd also use as the crow flies rather than road which can be very misleading. I leave just across the Salish Sea from Victoria, BC which may be about the same distance to Seattle. However travel time is substantially more getting to Victoria. And a lot more expensive.

The longitude could be the backup. I'm going to ask Andy Alan if there is any idea of how many home locations are tagged and how difficult is it to get.
