Unhelpful error resulted from trying to create an event without an AM/PM designated #158

I didn't know how to set AM/PM (at the time) and left "--" as the designation, but with all other fields set in the future. When I tried to create the event, I got a single black box with rounded corners that's about 50x60 pixels under the date/time field, with no other information about what is wrong. I was able to reproduce the bug.
