What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
26.825.6671.0
What subscription do you have?
ChatGPT Plus
What platform is your computer?
Windows 11, x64
What issue are you seeing?
The Codex browser extension can read the text currently visible on a GameChanger webpage, but it cannot navigate to other pages or tabs. It repeatedly reports that the Codex Chrome native host is out of date.
Exact error:
“The files contain all 49 visible schedule entries but remain limited to page text. Chrome navigation is still unavailable because the Codex native host is out of date, so no roster, statistics, box scores, plays, or pitch sequences are claimed as reviewed.
Please update or reinstall the Codex Chrome plugin and restart Chrome before retrying the full collection.”
The problem continues after updating the desktop app, reinstalling the browser extension through Settings > Computer Use, restarting the browser, restarting the desktop app, restarting the computer, and starting a new chat.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: 01a052e5-ecaa-7953-9f24-e7f14d89a4a7
What is the expected behavior?
The browser extension should connect to the current native host and navigate among the permitted tabs and pages in the signed-in browser session. It should be able to open and read the roster, statistics, box scores, Plays tabs, and pitch sequences without reporting that the native host is out of date.
Additional information
This workflow worked previously on the same computer and website. It successfully navigated through completed games and created evidence files containing season information and recent-game play and pitch records. The current failure began later without an intentional workflow change.
The extension can still read the visible schedule page, so the extension itself loads and communicates with ChatGPT. The failure appears specifically related to browser navigation through the native host.
