The parametric models (SMPL or SMPL-X) are in meters, and can be considered to have the correct scale as actual humans. However, currently the codebase only supports 2D methods (image- or video-based), which suffer from ambiguity as a big person standing at a far distance away from the camera may look the same as a small person standing nearer. We will soon support 3D methods (point cloud-based) that will enable better size estimation. |
