Expected Behavior

The Game should get hooked by game capture.

Current Behavior

The hook fails and Valorant freezes and becomes unresponsive.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have OBS version 31.0.0
  2. Start Valorant with a game capture source

Anything else we should know?

I have tested this without HAGS aswell and it still occurs.

Hooks in general seem to not be working after the update but hook attempts on valorant causes crashing and freezes

I know there's a good chance you've gotten an email (or a few with these edits) indicating my reply but for now until updates are pushed to fix the hooking issue you'll need to use window/display capture as Riot's AC won't work with v31.

it either crashes the valorant or crashes itself or freezes valorant

Can confirm, can't use game capture via OBS 31. Display capture works fine, can't do game capture. Can't launch val when OBS is running. Probably related to this: https://obsproject.com/kb/capture-hook-certificate-update

If any Vanguard or Riot devs are reading this, FUCK YOU. You stole around 2+ hours from my and my friend's lives tonight while we were trying to troubleshoot this issue. OBS Project announced this MONTHS AGO, yet you did not do the simple step of allowing the new signature.

Let's keep things civil, please.

Riot's anticheat services are not compatible with the new certs, so they cannot make things compatible, and we ran out of time where we could delay a release any longer. We are actively working with them to resolve this, but it will take some time to ensure we are doing things correctly, and with the least amount of friction for other anticheat/games.

Downgrading OBS version to an earlier version 29.1.2 (not-necessarily) solved the issue for me.
Downloaded and installed it over current latest OBS Studio.

The only solution as of right now is to downgrade from 31.0.0 to 30.2.3 or lower.

I downgraded mine to 30.2.3 and it started working.
