From bytescream: ...what about the case of entering times from before midnight? There ought to be a way to determine that if you are entering a time that is a certain number of minutes (hours?) before 2400, then the date is likely not TODAY. Maybe we let it default to "TODAY" and have a button for "Yesterday".

A candidate implementation is in the codebase at main. This might/not be the appropriate solution. Will take feedback on this and adjust later with plenty of requests, or will close this issue if feedback indicates it works.

Feedback received from Bigfoot 2023 event indicates the posted solution is useful and effective.

Will leave this Issue open leading up to the August 2024 event in case there anyone has any supported suggestions for improvements or fixes.
