Homebrew permissions error

This, I believe, is a permissions issue. What's the output of brew doctor?

That command can help you track down any kind of issues related to permissions and the like.

Try running brew cleanup -d -v and try again. If the problem persists, it may be worth removing your Homebrew install and setting it up again from scratch. It's possible something went wrong when Homebrew updated itself.

Taking ownership of files seems a common instruction, so you can try that too: sudo chmod -R g+rwx /usr/local/* (after which you should run brew cleanup and then should be able to use PHP Monitor to install the appropriate extensions)

I usesudo chown -R ${LOGNAME}:staff /Users/[username]/Library/Caches/Homebrew/api/formula.jws.json which fixed it
