Videos sent through bot.sendVideo will not be played on the ios devices

When the videos are uploaded via the method

bot.sendVideo(chat_id,open('file','rb'))

the files downloaded on the ios device do not play.
When I use the following method, files are executed on the ios

requests.post('https//api.telegram.org/bot<token>/sendVideo?chat_id=<chat_id>&video=path
But this method is limited and only files under 20 MB can be sent.
