Bug Report

What is the issue?

While doing the exploratory testing for MAC VO on the NHS App, it was observed that the heading (NHS Radio Group Legend) was being read twice. This occurs across all uses of the NHS Radio Legend.

Note: It is being read twice while navigating like a real user from prev page to current page. If you are on the page and try to read element after element you may not see the issue.

The radio legend should only be read once.

What steps are required to reproduce the issue?

We see this issue on the GP messaging page of the NHS App. I have attached a video of this here but it can be seen here when you open the radio group in a tab on Firefox. (We have seen this on other browsers but this specific on only does it on firefox and is the best example. This is a video of that page on firefox.

What was the environment where this issue occurred?

  • Device: Macbook
  • Operating System: MacOS 14.6.1
  • Browser: Firefox
  • Browser version: 130.0.1
  • NHS.UK frontend package version: N/A
  • Node version: N/A
  • npm version: N/A

Is there anything else you think would be useful in recreating the issue?

I have added screen recordings and references in the above.

Do you observe the same if you try one of the examples in the design system?

@tjhayward is your code available anywhere I could view it? The spacing on the radios in the video looks different, so I'd like to check the markup. Is it deployed anywhere I could try?
