[Bug]: Automatically Generated Password when sharing a file via link or email stop working after upgrade #5555

Bug description

The auto password generator is not working on client 3.7.4 tested on windows once i click on share via link i get an option to set password and dose not auto generate

I can confirm the problem and add, that when using the app password_policy, there is no way to set a password at all. I guess in the background the empty password is checked against the policy, but the input text field is never shown. Tested on Linux using client version 3.8.0

same here with Windows Desktop client 3.8.0 (but also tried 3.71 aup to 3.8.0) on nextcloud 26.0.0 in a docker swarm mode configuration via Traefik ingress.

this problem only persist with the desktop app, neithr WebIF nor Android app have that problem when sharing.

working setting:

enabling any of:

  • Enforce upper and lower case characters
  • Enforce numeric characters
  • Enforce special characters

creates the problem.

Closing since the fix is merged. I'll reopen if issue still present after next update.
