Wouldn't it be possible to save every setting in a different file instead of the one big schema.yml file?
This would make it easier to extract and reuse certain configuration options, like a single field, for a different project.
It would also be more clear in git what was added or changed.

I guess you could configure a directory in stead of a file. Could be doable.
