Interaction with code

Content

  • What constitutes a line vs block of code in various languages?
  • Sometimes was hard to agree whether function declaration could count as important and encompass all within.
  • Some code and languages we tried were easy to ID single lines, others much harder
  • Marked a difference between lines beginners and experts chose. General consensus most of the time by experts on at least 3 of the 5 important lines when picked independently.
  • Maybe enforce a 3 or 5 minute limit for each person to talk and stick to taking turns (e.g. for some explaining why line chosen as important)

Summarize

  • This could be useful as documentation and fed back into project's code
  • We never got to this formally, but ended up doing it within conversations in other sections
  • could be easier to get to if same code used for 2 consecutive sessions
