Between Cancel and Save, there should be a "Save & continue editing" button. By clicking the button, you can save the form without getting redirected to the index / show view.

Should we make it configurable? I would love to see such a button, but I think not every application needs it 🤔

Edit: We can make it configurable as soon as someone complains about it.
