Wanting to get SublimeHaskell, I tried 3-4 times to intall hsdev using cabal, but it freezing on build a package, dunno if same every time. Last time it was haskell-src-exts-1.2.1.1.1 (lib); all four core grind out 100%, and RAM goes from .5 to 3.5G within 2', after which it's utter stasis, so power out and retry again, then again using last reply here, but alas something about ghc not being configured, or there being no settings..?
I have no clue what the problem is, what the difference between (trying) installation with cabal and stack is, all I notice is everything's very fractured is if.
I know I have the tarball for hsdev, although I haven't ever gotten to installing it because of the myriad dependencies that don't build.

It's rather hard for as newcomer to haskell to get conflicting messages regarding whats' the one correct way to install or use the damn language- be it cabal, stack, the compiler. I haven't tried every haskell package I've dl'd, but even the big one more frequently don't work right outta the box.
I have no idea why you have to constantly downgrade packages to get something to work. Documentation is often sparse, if there at all- I wanted to get into functional programming- what in the fuck is a yaml, and why do I have to deal with it.
