I am not sure any dedicated effort has been put into this however there are constraints on API call rates and complexities that MA has to deal with across the range of providers. We have given thought to proxying some of the databases that MA accesses so that API call rates could be increased. So we are always open to ideas for improvement but we can’t risk being black listed for excessive API usage nor do we want a negative user experience from stale cached data. Within those constraints please suggest away! |

I'm wondering if there's been any exploration around potential speed-ups for the track and album listing endpoints.
Context is I'm looking to start contributing to Music Assistant as I'm a huge fan and user. And I enjoy performance work, even if it's more about tricks like pre-caching than raw optimisations, and I'd be keen to see if we make the responses feel closer to instant.
Has anybody looked into this in the past, or any ongoing or historical discussion I can look at? If not, I'd be happy to contribute ideas or experiments here, and chat with anybody else keen.
