help with local files

Hi

Right now in my setup although MA found all my local files (music) nothing is available to play.
I have the following folder and available to play are only the files in the mp3 folder.

All other folders although are available in browse filesystem the folders aren't opening

What should I do to fix it?

Ok not sure if it is the main problem but I see errors relating to incomplete tags. Please properly tag these files and see what happens. We recommend using Picard.

Also your posts are a little bit confusing in that the top you said only the MP3 files are playing but then above you show MP3 files as being the problem? Or are all your files mp3 and only the ones in the mp3 folder are playing? If so then what is the difference between the files that work and those that don’t?

Sorry, but I can not. I have over 15.000 songs I want to add. I already lost 2-3 hours only for 1.000 (and I have to check them again)
I don't know if MA can handle better all the files in the future - as previous version did - but for me it will be better to remove MA from my system.

The music has to be properly tagged for MA to work well. I am not suggesting you recheck them all but find one that isn't working and look at the tags and see what is missing. If you can work out why it wasn't tagged properly then perhaps it will be fast to fix the rest.

to be honest, I don't like this idea. I have so many songs downloaded from various sites with so many "mistakes" in tags that it is difficult to handle. Previous version was working fine. I just pasted my music in /music directory and it was working. This is of course my personal view but something has to change in MA to find the songs without tags or anything. It is not so normal all my sources (windows laptop, android phone/iphone etc) to be able to play my music and in order to work in HA with MA, I will have to change them, tag them etc. For my personal view as I said this is a "no go". I prefer to have my music in HA with the basic player. I hope sometime this to be understood and change the logic that is valid now. Thanks for you help

It is a bit less black and white. Yeah, to use MA in its full glory you better make sure you have proper ID3 tags. But if you accept faulty data, there's a setting in the File provider to just pick a default for the album artist tag. That will solve your issue.

I don't have problem with this. Where is this option?

edit: tried the following and it worked! That's much better

May I ask if you know an easy way how to create fast playlists ideally with MA? It seems I can not select by once even the songs of one folder, but maybe I am missing something.

Multi select options are not (yet) available in the browse section but it does exist in the generic library listings.
Also, the playlist management is atm still very basic (just adding/removing tracks to/from a playlist) but we have planned to extend this over time.

For now, best lookup the album/artist/tracks and either select them one by one to add to a playlist or select multiple items from the interface options (checkbox upper left corner)

Ideally I would like an option to play a folder or to select songs from multiple folders. I hope that it will be available soon.
