Summary

Expose a version field to allow developers building on top of Base UI to easily support multiple versions.

Motivation

This is a continuation of mui/material-ui#43699, for the sake of providing a coherent user journey experience for developers. I don't think that we need this now, but I'm curious to see if this idea will gain traction with developers.
