I know the project is not archived but the last update was 8 months ago.

It looks like the maintainers have abandoned the project. There is a fork by @NeNpO at https://github.com/NeNpO/QuillNote which is up to date with the PRs.

It'll be great if @msoultanidis or any of the owners could add some more contributors. I'd also suggest to move this to the dedicated org https://github.com/qosp
